Turkmen Customs Officers Attend CAREC System Presentation

Employees of the State Customs Service were presented with an improved version of the CAREC regional transit system. The presentation was held by representatives of the Asian Development Bank. This is reported by the online publication "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age".

The most important advantages of this system are high security of the supply chain, reduction of time and material costs at the border for transit operators. The system involves the formation of a risk-based guarantee mechanism.

One of the significant advantages of CAREC is the introduction of an improved exchange of harmonized transit information for the purpose of preliminary risk assessment. At the same time, the basic provisions of the system are in accordance with the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation.

This CAREC presentation was held as part of a regional economic partnership in the Central Asian region.
