The fact that domestic violence was transferred to a series of criminal offenses, as well as increased punishment for violence against minors, was applauded by Saida Mirziyoyeva.
The House of Commons adopted a set of amendments to the criminal and administrative responsibility codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan to protect women and minors from violence.

In particular, domestic violence was transferred to a series of criminal offenses, increasing the punishment for economic and psychological violence, as well as violence against minors.

Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the Department for Communications and information policy of the executive apparatus of the presidential administration, welcomed these changes.

"I see this as a victory for civil society and activists. Victory of common sense and Justice. We have made long and painstaking efforts for these successes, but in our legislation we have been able to jointly prove that such amendments are inherent in the requirements of the time and are extremely significant for humanism.

There are a lot of things we need to do ahead, but success is always inspiring. I would like to thank everyone who supported these amendments, worked on documents and promoted these ideas in our society.

This is the victory not only of women of Uzbekistan, but of all thoughtful, progressive people!", Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote.
