Starting from the next academic year, admission quotas for energy-related fields of study will be increased at higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. Additionally, state grants will be awarded annually to 50 young people to pursue their studies at foreign universities. This was announced during an open dialogue held by the President with investors in the fuel and energy sector. It was noted that the effective operation of new energy facilities depends on the availability of qualified specialists. To this end, the Saudi Arabian company ACWA is equipping technical colleges in Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, and the Syrdarya region, and is initiating training programs for young people in new energy-related disciplines. The Head of State urged other investors to also participate in the process of training specialists—who meet international standards—for their respective projects. To support these initiatives, it was proposed that the management of regional technical colleges be entrusted to the investors.
