Suusamyr is located 110 kilometers from Kara-Balta and 170 kilometers from Bishkek. In the Suusamyr Valley, during the days of abnormal cold weather, the air temperature was -40...-45 at night, and -28...-33 during the day.
The Suusamyr valley is located at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level. Moreover, the valley, protected by high mountains (up to 4500 meters), has its own windless and dry microclimate. In winter, there are deep snowdrifts here. But in summer, almost the entire territory of the valley, like an Alpine meadow, is covered with a carpet of tall green grass.
The Suusamyr valley is famous for its pastures, some of the best in the whole country. The valley attracts many tourists who want to spend time in the fresh mountain air, mountain climbers and mountain skiers. There are two major rivers in the valley: Suusamyr and Western Karakol, which, merging together, form a stormy and high-water Kokomeren.
