The jubilee session of the World Tourism Organization will be held in Samarkand

At the headquarters of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Madrid, an agreement was signed between the government of Uzbekistan and the organization on holding the jubilee session of the organization's General Assembly in Samarkand on October 16-20.

At the meeting, Secretary General of UNWTO Zurab Pololikashvili, First Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Ulugbek Azamov and Rector of "Silk Road" International Tourism University Aziz Abduhakimov signed a memorandum on the establishment of UNWTO International Tourism Academy in Samarkand.

In fact, this initiative was proposed and supported by Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting between the head of Uzbekistan and the Secretary General of the organization.
