President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Khorezm region on March 31 in order to get acquainted with the development of the regions and the life of the population.
The head of our state initially took part in an extraordinary session of the Khorezm Regional Council of people's deputies in the city of Urgench and gave a speech.
- Today on this ancient and tabarruk land, in the blessed month of Ramadan, I am very pleased to see you, my dear countrymen, – said the head of our state. – If we analyze, many things have changed in Khorezm. But the times are moving rapidly, the demand of the population is growing. We must act accordingly. Therefore, we need to take a critical look at our work and achieve great heights.
At the beginning of the meeting, changes in the Khorezm region were noted. Preschool coverage has increased from 22% to 79% in the last six years. 131 schools were built and reconstructed. 580,000 residents were provided with centralized drinking water for the first time.
An additional Rs 1 trillion was allocated to the improvement of 531 neighborhoods in the region, 50 billion to the repair of roads of district centers, pedestrian walkways and lighting.
The work of housing the population was also accelerated. In the last five years, 9,500 apartments have been put into use. As a continuation of these good deeds, the construction of the AL-Khwarazmi settlement began in the city of Urganch.
As part of a $ 1.5 billion 7,000 project in industry, agriculture, and services, new businesses have started. This created 50,000 new permanent jobs and removed 19,000 families from poverty.
Production increased 1.5 times, with industrial exports amounting to $ 190 million. In particular, the production of textiles, automotive, food, electrical and building materials has grown by 2 times.
But it was shown that the economic opportunities in the region are even greater, there are many issues that plague the population.
The session saw an organizational issue. The head of our state recommended the candidacy of Zhurabek Rahimov for the post of Governor of the Khorezm region.
J.Rahimov was born in the Khorezm region in 1981. Starting his labor career in Shovot district, in recent years he has served as governor of Bogot and Koshkopir districts. He has been acting governor of the Khorezm region since December last year.
The head of state offered to hear his plans before confirming the candidate for the position. Zhurabek Rahimov presented his plans for the development of entrepreneurship, industry, agriculture in the region, creating decent living conditions for the population.
First of all, attention was paid to measures to ensure employment and increase income of the population. The president approved the proposals and gave instructions to the officials on them.
An additional Rs 940 billion was set to be allocated for family entrepreneurship programmes. It was said that by organizing new business entities, 57 thousand people could be employed by self-employment, 50 thousand by solving the issue of Labor weapons and space in 240 neighborhoods with potential in the industry.
The second important task is to ensure the balance of food products. To this end, the second stage of the project” restoration of the trunk irrigation canal in the thoracic system " begins. On 2 thousand hectares in Bogot, Shovot and Yangibazar districts, plantations of grapes, apples and melons, centers of agrologistics are established in Gurlan and Bogot. Poultry, livestock, milk processing projects are carried out.
It is known that each district is tasked with attracting at least $ 50 million in investment. In return, the candidate for the regional administration provided information on what projects were intended in the districts.
The head of state instructed to direct an additional 100 billion for the infrastructure of 14 large industrial projects, to establish electrical engineering and pharmaceutical industrial parks in Urganch. In return for an investment of $ 20 million, Damas and Labo cars were tasked with increasing production. This will create 300 new jobs.
Measures for the provision of electricity to industrial enterprises and housing were also established.
Special attention was also paid to the development of the social sphere, the establishment of schools and kindergartens, the provision of Housing and drinking water to the population. The president supported the initiative to improve sanitation in schools, to establish foreign language and vocational training rooms, and to open 12 IT parks.
In total, it was announced that an additional 400 billion soums will be allocated to the solution of social problems in Khwarezm for the 1.5 trillion soums envisaged in this year's state programs. In addition, an additional $ 475 million was commissioned for agrarian sector, drinking water and entrepreneurial projects.
Through all measures, 365,000 residents were given the task of providing lucrative labor and turning Khwarazm into an unemployment-free area.
After the presentation, the deputies of the Regional Council expressed their opinion on the candidate's plans. The organizational issue was put to the vote. According to his results, Zhurabek Rahimov was confirmed as the governor of the Khorezm region.

After that, the head of state visited the Khwarezm branch of the Technological Park of software products and Information Technology.
Built at a cost of more than Rs 15 billion, the center has the capacity to train and provide IT services to 4,500 young people a year in the field of Information Technology. This is an important factor in the way in which young people take up modern specialties and find their way. In particular, the complex also employs 250 young men and women.
The president was informed about the work being carried out in the IT Park, the plans in perspective.
All the necessary conditions for the organization of training and the export of IT services have been created here. The goals were to bring the volume of exports to $ 3 million in the current year.
It was here that there was a dialogue with IT park residents, young people working in the field of Information Technology. They told about their activities.
The head of state heard the opinions of young people and gave instructions to the officials to support their proposals.
Our president got acquainted with the activities of the textile enterprise of the limited liability company “Yangibozor tekstil agroklaster” in the Khorezm region.
Within the framework of this project, which is worth more than 13 billion soums, modern equipment from abroad is installed. A production capacity of 5 million pieces of finished knitwear per year has been created. It is intended to target 65% of the goods for export.
today there are about 500 women working here.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev talked with them during the acquaintance with the work process at the enterprise. The women said that industry is also entering the remote districts, they are happy to work in such a modern enterprise near their home.
It was here that the launch ceremony of 6 new enterprises in the Khorezm region took place. They are drywall products by the Enterprise “Eko Obi Hayat” in Urgench, burama mix by the private enterprise “Zakirov” in Urgench district, the second stage of Khiva gilami combine, ready-made gauze by the Enterprise “Koba teks” in Bogot district, technical salts by the Enterprise “Khorezm Solt business” in Urgench district, sewing-knitwear production projects by the enterprise “Khorezmteks Feishn” in Khonkh District. Representatives of these enterprises gave information about the potential of complexes through video communication.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev pressed a symbolic button and launched these new enterprises.
The head of our state also visited the field of the seed cluster “Pride of Khorezm” in the Yangibazar district.
The total land area of this cluster is 286 hectares. Of this, 147 hectares are cultivated with wheat and 122 hectares with cotton. 45 people were employed on a permanent basis.
The head of our state examined the development of crops. He was interested in the variety of grain and Acorns, the yield of fruit trees.
It is known that Khorezm is considered a water deficit area. Therefore, in agriculture, efforts are being made to use water-saving technologies. In one part of the grain field, it was established to irrigate rain, and in the middle of the new garden, where apple seedlings were planted, agricultural crops such as carrots, onions, turnips were planted.
The president stressed that such factorism should be taught to others.
In our country, the vacated fields are divided into unemployed residents for repeated planting of crops. The” pride of khwarazm " seed cluster also provided 80 residents with land to plant vegetables from 30 acres. A further 26 people were earmarked for this year.
The president spoke here with agricultural workers, farmers and farm workers. The importance of growing crops suitable for the soil of Khorezm, industrialization of Agriculture was noted.
