Today, rescuers of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan began search and rescue operations in the Turkish province of Kahramanmarash, seriously affected by the earthquake, the press center of the department reports.

40 rescuers are examining and dismantling the rubble of destroyed buildings.

"Our rescuers work with maximum efficiency, because in the conditions of such catastrophic destruction, every minute is precious to save lives. Rescuers use special technical means designed to search for people under the rubble," the source said.

On the night of 9 to 10 February, a meeting was held in the city of Gaziantep between the head of the rescue team of the Committee and the Chief of Staff for the Elimination of consequences of this city. The location of the work of Tajik rescuers was determined.

The Turkish side expressed gratitude to the leadership of Tajikistan for the support provided.
