Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the national leader of Turkmenistan, chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. During the meeting, he first expressed his deep sympathy and consolation to the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov due to the death of his mother, Ogulabat Edje Berdimuhamedova, and wished patience and endurance to him and all his relatives. During the conversation, views were exchanged on current issues on the bilateral agenda. The progress of the implementation of high-level agreements was discussed. The effective results of the bilateral dialogues since the beginning of the year - the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, political consultations, meetings of the Ministers of Transport and Culture, and other events held in connection with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations were noted with satisfaction. "The issues of cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, energy and water management were discussed. In addition, the practical aspects of regional cooperation in Central Asia were discussed," the report said. It was also agreed to continue active exchanges on further strengthening of Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan strategic partnership relations. At the end of the telephone conversation, the leaders congratulated each other and the peoples of the sister countries with the upcoming Eid al-Fitr. The President of Uzbekistan, as well as the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhamedov, expressed his condolences on the death of his grandmother. In the conversation, issues of further strengthening of Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan strategic partnership and expansion of practical cooperation in accordance with high-level agreements were discussed. The effective results of the recently held meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, meetings within the framework of foreign political agencies, the ministries of transport, culture and other activities were positively evaluated. Special attention is paid to the issues of trade and economic cooperation, first of all, the establishment of the Shavot-Tashavuz border trade area, the implementation of cooperation projects in the priority sectors of the economy, and the continuation of active cultural and humanitarian exchanges. Ogulabad Berdimuhamedova died on April 7 at the age of 86. Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed condolences to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the death of his mother. In connection with the death of Ogulabad Berdimuhamedova, all wedding events in the country were canceled until April 15, and the work of banquet halls was suspended.
