Sadir Japarov spoke about the disagreement with Tajikistan on the division of the border

Kyrgyz President Sadir Japarov addressed the issue of delimitation and demarcation of the border with Tajikistan in an interview with Kabar.

"There are previous shifts, but this work is going very slowly. If both parties agree to delimitation, then a month of work remains. Unfortunately, in the process of work, neighbors suddenly propose to mark the territory based on the map of 1924.

The work process stops. Such a proposal does not meet any legal and moral standards. In 1924, both Tajikistan and we were not a separate state. If both sides decide to be bounded on the basis of the 1924 map, then all boundary lines must be considered,” Japarov said.

The Kyrgyz leader said earlier that he hoped that the determination of the border line with Tajikistan would be completed by May 2023.

"At that time, the parties worked in harmony, the work was faster. Unfortunately, it was not completed, " he concluded.
