The agreement will legally fix the designation of the line of the Kazakh-Uzbek state border on the groundPresident of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On ratification of the Treaty between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on the demarcation of the Kazakh-Uzbek state border", Akorda reports. The purpose of this law is the international legal consolidation of the legal basis for the demarcation of the state border line between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In accordance with the agreement, the starting point of the Kazakh-Uzbek state border is the junction point of the state borders of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, and the end point of the border line is the junction point of the borders of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The treaty provides for the designation on the ground by border signs of the demarcated line of the state border, the length of which is 2356.666 km. At the same time, the passage of the state border line, the location of border signs, their geodetic coordinates, elevation marks and other data of each border sign are reflected and specified in the annexes to the treaty. Along with this, a separate annex to the treaty reflects the state affiliation of the islands on the border rivers Keles and Syr Darya, their coordinates and area. Ratification of the Treaty will make it possible to legally consolidate the designation of the line of the Kazakh-Uzbek state border on the ground, complete its international legal registration and eliminate possible prerequisites for the emergence of territorial disputes with the Republic of Uzbekistan. Ratification of the Treaty will strengthen sovereignty, territorial integrity and ensure stability on the state border of the two countries in the spirit of mutual respect, trust and equality, the conclusion to the document says. Earlier, Tokayev signed a number of laws in the field of the judicial system.
