In Uzbekistan, the sale of tobacco and alcohol products was officially prohibited to citizens under the age of 21

The law”on restrictions on the distribution and consumption of alcohol and tobacco products " was signed by the president. 

The law prohibited the sale of alcohol and tobacco products, tobacco and nicotine use devices to persons under the age of 21 and their realization by these persons, and the involvement of these persons in the process of consumption of alcohol and tobacco products.

A person directly carrying out the realization of alcohol and tobacco products, tobacco and nicotine use devices must require a buyer under the age of 21 to show a proof of his identity and age, and in the absence of a document, refuse the realization of alcohol and tobacco products, tobacco and nicotine use devices.

The law established relations related to the production, sale of alcohol and tobacco products, as well as the powers of the bodies responsible for the industry. According to him, the realization of alcohol and tobacco products in the following situations (sale, purchase, etc.k.) prohibited:

To persons under the age of 21 and by them;
without direct participation of the seller, from self-service shelves, in the form of e-commerce;
by traveling trading, outside real-world trading facilities, in pharmacies;
in rooms where goods for children are sold;
if designed to resemble children's toys, candies or other goods intended for children;
in the regions of Health, Education, Culture, Sports Facilities, Sanatorium and medical and social institutions;
at trading facilities less than 100 meters away from educational, sports and religious organizations;
when the shelf life has expired, without proper documentation confirming the quality of the product;
in relation to cigarettes and a heated tobacco product, which is grained or opened (with a violation of integrity), in a consumption ditch (box).
Alcohol products are prohibited for consumption in workplaces, streets, stadiums, alleys, parks, all types of public transport and other public places. Specially designated places for gum smoking can only be established in separately designated buildings, structures and facilities equipped with ventilation systems, where gum services are provided.

The consumption container of alcohol products must contain a text inscription and (or) picture-style medical warning that occupies at least forty percent of the label's main surface.

The law comes into force 3 months after the date of its official publication.

The law”on the restriction of the distribution and consumption of alcohol and tobacco " was approved in the Thirty-sixth plenary session of the Senate. The law expands the ranks of the bodies carrying out activities to limit the distribution and consumption of alcohol and tobacco products, and clearly defines their powers in the field. In addition, restrictions on the realization of alcohol and tobacco products, tobacco and nicotine use devices are also included.
