Ballot: sample trafaret in Braille approved

Today, the next session of the Central Election Commission was held. It dealt with issues related to ensuring the electoral rights of persons with disabilities in the presidential election of the Republic of Uzbekistan, appeals to the Central Election Commission during the preparation period for the election, accreditation of observers and media representatives who participate in the presidential election from international organizations.
The meeting was attended by plenipotentiaries of political parties and representatives of NGOs with disabilities.

It is noted that it is important to ensure the electoral rights of all citizens in this political event, which will take place in our country. In particular, it is necessary to carry out the necessary measures to create conditions for the participation of persons with disabilities in the elections. It follows that in order to ensure the electoral rights of persons with disabilities at the meeting, a sample of trafaret is approved, which is prepared on the basis of the Braille alphabet to fill the ballot for the election of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Measures were also set to provide each polling station with these trafarets. In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, appeals from individuals and legal entities were considered to the Central Election Commission on June 6-13 this year. As noted, appropriate action was taken on each appeal. After the discussions, a corresponding decision was made on the appeals.The session also addressed issues of accreditation of international observers and media representatives. According to the submission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the representative of the election monitoring mission of the OSCE Diihb was accredited. Also, 159 representatives of domestic media and 42 representatives of foreign media were accredited. To date, the total number of representatives of accredited domestic and foreign media is 554.On all the issues discussed at the meeting, the relevant decisions of the CEC were adopted.
