A loan agreement in the amount of 1.18 billion yuan was signed between Uzmilliybank and KhDTB

On May 17 of this year, on the eve of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the People's Republic of China, the Uzbekistan-China business forum was held in Xi'an.

More than 600 representatives of large Chinese companies, business circles and financial institutions of the two countries took part in the event. This, in turn, showed the great interest of Chinese investors in the implementation of joint projects in Uzbekistan.

This Business Forum provided an opportunity to consider issues of deepening Uzbek-Chinese relations and comprehensive bilateral strategic cooperation.

The main focus of the event was on the implementation of joint projects on the development of transport infrastructure, renewable energy, creation of industrial parks and agricultural clusters in the regions of Uzbekistan with the participation of leading Chinese companies.

Within the framework of the business forum, JSC "National Bank of Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan" (hereinafter referred to as Ozmilliybank) and the State Development Bank of China (hereinafter referred to as the State Development Bank of China) signed a contract of 1.18 billion. an agreement was signed on attracting a credit line in the amount of RMB. The credit line will be used to finance an infrastructural project for the purchase of passenger buses and electric buses in the transport sector.

This investment project is aimed at the development of the transport infrastructure provided for in the reform program "Strategy for the Development of New Uzbekistan in 2022-2026" according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on February 16, 2023 "On Measures to Reform the Public Transport System" It is implemented in accordance with the decision of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-59. will be updated with comfortable buses.

The signing of the above agreement is a logical continuation of the long-term cooperation of the KhDTB with Uzmilliybank. Today, within the framework of bilateral cooperation, the total value is 1.7 billion. Credit lines denominated in US dollars are involved.
