Person Swept Away by Flash Flood in Kashkadarya

One person died as a result of a flash flood in the Dehqonobod district of the Kashkadarya region. The incident occurred on October 13 in the Shakarbuloq village of the "Qo‘ng‘irot" mahalla. According to the regional Department of Emergency Situations, heavy rain fell in the district's mountainous areas around 5:30 PM on October 13, causing a flash flood in the village. The driver of a Damas vehicle, having lost his way, stopped to determine the correct route. At that moment, the vehicle slid and fell into a deep area where the floodwaters were rushing. The driver managed to exit the vehicle and attempted to make a call, warning the passenger about the approaching flood; however, the current swept away both the vehicle and the passenger remaining inside. The passenger's body was recovered during search and rescue operations. Representatives from the district administration, the Department of Emergency Situations, and law enforcement agencies were deployed to the scene. The public has been urged to exercise caution during heavy rains in mountainous areas and to avoid stopping in locations where flash floods might occur.
