On October 29, a ceremony marking the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye was held at the Hilton Hotel in Tashkent.
The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, government and public officials, media representatives, and invited guests.
Türkiye's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Ufuk Ulutaş, delivered a speech highlighting the friendship and cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
In response to a question from a CASIA.UZ correspondent about how he would describe the current stage of Uzbekistan–Türkiye relations, Ambassador Ufuk Ulutaş stated that ties between the two countries are stronger than many people imagine.
“A few years ago, when discussing relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, people often emphasized their enormous potential. However, at that time, much of this potential had yet to be realized.
Over the past seven or eight years in particular, the process that began with Shavkat Mirziyoyev assuming the presidency has laid the foundation for closer relations between our two countries. Over nearly the past decade, we have witnessed our bilateral relations rise to the level of a strategic partnership.
This strategic partnership is not merely a title or a concept on paper. We can see clear examples of it. Bilateral trade continues to grow, and our cooperation is developing across all sectors, including education, healthcare, trade, and the economy.
If I were to highlight one particular aspect of our relations, I would say that the ties between our countries are stronger than many people imagine — even stronger than we ourselves may realize. The relationship between the presidents of our two countries is based on genuine brotherhood, and this is naturally reflected in the relations between our nations,” Ambassador Ufuk Ulutaş emphasized.
Özgür Kufacı, co-founder of Renesus, also answered a question from CASIA.UZ about what the 103rd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye means to him and what lessons today's generation should draw from its history.
“The 103rd anniversary of our republic symbolizes our independence and shared future. The most important lesson for our young people is to regard science and education as an invaluable legacy, act in a spirit of unity, and contribute to taking our republic to even greater heights of development,” he said.
Özgür Onur Özgüven, co-founder of Özgüven, also took the opportunity to congratulate everyone on the national holiday.
“Today, we celebrated the 103rd anniversary of the founding of our republic. We are sincerely delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate this occasion in Tashkent.
The celebration took place in a wonderful and uplifting atmosphere. I would like to express my gratitude to our compatriots here and to the Uzbek people for their warm congratulations. Happy 103rd anniversary of our republic!” he said.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov attended the event on behalf of the Uzbek government.
