Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, 84, continued his decades-long tradition under unusual circumstances. On November 1, the actor greeted fans gathered outside his Jalsa residence in Mumbai from behind a transparent bulletproof protective screen.
The actor, who usually steps outside his home every Sunday to wave to his fans, remained inside a specially designed protective enclosure this time. His son, Abhishek Bachchan, accompanied him.
The heightened security measures followed a threatening email received by Mumbai police on October 23. The message threatened attacks on the actor's residence in the Juhu area, the city's municipal headquarters, and singer Diljit Dosanjh's concert scheduled for November 27.
The email claimed that an attack on the actor's residence could take place between October 31 and November 27. Although the threat was later determined to be a hoax, police strengthened security measures.
Amitabh Bachchan has maintained a long-standing tradition of greeting fans who gather outside his residence every Sunday.
