Uzbekistan and Tajikistan use each other's airfields

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, ratified the intergovernmental agreement with Tajikistan on the mutual use of the airspace and airfields of the state aviation in case of force majeure.

The document was signed on June 10, 2021 in Dushanbe. According to him, both sides have the right to request permission to cross the airspace for a short time due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan adopted the agreement in February 2023, and the Senate approved it in early May.
