The Presidential Decree "On measures to attract the population to handicrafts and create favorable conditions for the development of handicrafts" (PF-91, 12.06.2023) was adopted.
According to the decree, until January 1, 2025, for craftsmen included in the "National catalog of masters of applied folk arts" and "Register of craftsmen operating in the field of tourism":
- during the calendar year, the turnover tax rate is reduced by 50% on the amount of income from the sale of handicraft products (works, services) exceeding 100 million soums, but not exceeding 1 billion soums;
- national registration of trademarks is carried out free of charge.
In 2023, at least 70 percent of the funds allocated for the development of home economics and crafts within the framework of family business development programs will be directed to the financing of crafts development projects.
The Homestead Support Fund was renamed the Handicrafts and Homestead Support Fund, and from June 15, 2023, financial support measures for handicrafts will be implemented from the funds of the Fund.
The list of subsidies (given below) to be allocated for the support of handicraft activities at the expense of the Fund for Support of Handicrafts and Households has been approved.
From July 1, 2023:
- 50% of the international postal and courier costs for the export of handicraft products, but no more than 50% of the product's export value (without shipping costs);
- the procedure for renting out real estate objects of the tangible cultural heritage owned by the state to engage in craft activities only to artisans included in the National Catalog and Register through an electronic online auction will be introduced.
Until March 1, 2024, in the area adjacent to the New Uzbekistan Park, a place of Craftsmen will be built on a 0.3-hectare plot of land, including a demonstration hall, a "Master-Apprentice" school and a workshop, and up to 100 square meters for each craftsman. spaces are for rent.
