The family of the deceased prosecutor was paid 21 million soms, the parliament is dissatisfied

In Kyrgyzstan, a discussion in society was caused by the issue of payment of benefits in the amount of 21 million soms to the family of the deceased prosecutor. This issue was discussed and supported on May 15 at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy. Azattyk reports.

As Deputy Prosecutor General Umutkan Konkubayeva noted, the law provides for the payment of benefits to the families of employees of the prosecutor's office in cases of their death during the performance of duties.

“According to part 5 of Article 84 of the constitutional law “On the Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic”, upon the death of a prosecutor and an investigator in the performance of their official duties, the family of the deceased is paid a lump-sum allowance in the amount of 20 years of wages based on his average annual salary for the last position. This amounted to 21 million 699 thousand soms,” said the Deputy Prosecutor General.

The prosecutor of the Chatkal region, Bakirdin Zhanuzakov, died in July last year in an accident.
