Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Emomali Rahmon

On May 18, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, within the framework of the Central Asian countries and China summit in Xi'an. This was reported by the press service of the president.

Current issues of further development of multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, expansion of strategic partnership and alliance relations were discussed. The leaders highly appreciated the effective results of the regular meeting of the intergovernmental joint commission on economic cooperation held on May 12 in Tashkent.

The importance of increasing the volume of mutual trade and implementing the decisions taken on the promotion of industrial cooperation projects, including energy, machine-building, agriculture, transport-communication and other sectors, was emphasized. The leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan also exchanged views on current issues on the regional agenda, discussed the plan of future events.
