President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev will pay a working visit to Russia. Ruslan Jeldibay, the press secretary of the president, announced this on his Facebook page. It was reported that Tokayev will pay a practical visit to Russia on May 8-9. "The president will visit the Rzhev memorial in Tver region and commemorate the Kazakh soldiers of the 100th and 101st rifle divisions who died in one of the largest battles of the Second World War," wrote Jeldibai. He will also visit the mass grave in the village of Trubino, where Tokayev's uncle Kasim Boltayev is buried. About 22,000 soldiers and officers conscripted from Kazakhstan took part in the Battle of Rzhev. "On May 9, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev will participate in the parade dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War. "The Russian side has invited the leaders of the CIS countries to the solemn event," he said. For information, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will also visit Moscow on May 9 and participate in a military parade at Putin's invitation.
