Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Emir of Qatar and the President of Laos.

On October 15, in Baku, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held meetings with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, on the sidelines of the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

During the meeting with the Emir of Qatar, the two sides discussed the development of a strategic partnership and practical cooperation between their nations. It was noted that collaboration is already underway with Qatari companies in sectors such as energy, the chemical industry, food security, transport, and construction. The parties explored ways to further expand this cooperation, including the organization of meetings for the joint intergovernmental commission and the Business Council, to be held alongside a forum in Doha this December.

In the meeting with the President of Laos, the focus was on developing bilateral relations and increasing trade volume. The importance of implementing joint projects in transport, logistics, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and tourism was highlighted, as was the need to intensify exchanges in the fields of education and culture.

During both meetings, the leaders also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
