North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the Japanese sea. This is stated by the United Committee of the South Korean Chiefs of staff.

According to the South Korean news agency, the launch of the rocket was carried out immediately after the conclusion of joint military exercises of South Korea and the United States on the border of the DPRK.

It was noted that even on the eve of the incident, the Japanese Ministry of Defense warned Seoul in advance about the possibility of a rocket launch by the North Korean military. The Japanese Coast Guard later revealed that the ballistic missile had crashed into the Japanese sea.

Earlier, North Korea reported to the UN International Maritime Organization that it refused to report the launch of the missile.
