Mastercard opens its official representative office in Uzbekistan

As part of the Annual Conference of EBRD in Samarkand, the global payment company Mastercard announced the opening of its first official representative office in Uzbekistan.
"Opening an official representative office will allow us to better understand the need in places, and we will work more enthusiastically, offering the most modern digital technological solutions. Now, for the benefit of everyone, I am sure that in the coming years we will work more actively and efficiently on the way to achieving common goals for the development of the digital economy," said Dimitrios Dosis, President of Mastercard for Eastern Europe, the Middle East, the African region.

Last year, an agreement was signed between Mastercard and the Central Bank of Uzbekistan on a three-year partnership in the field of digital technologies and a memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of digital technologies on key areas such as digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises, fintex, cyber security, tourism, Smart City, financial literacy, as well as co-ownership of Finance.
