In three months, 4.7 thousand Uzbeks received Russian citizenship

In the first three months of this year, more than 106 thousand foreigners received Russian citizenship, which is 35 thousand less than last year.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of internal affairs of Russia on the state of migration for the period from January to March 2023, mainly citizens of Tajikistan have received Russian citizenship, writes titass.

“In January-March 2023, the number of persons who have decided to acquire Russian citizenship is 106,320,” the document says.

At the same time, during the same period last year, 141,663 foreigners received Russian citizenship.

According to the Ministry of internal affairs of the Russian Federation, in three months of 2023, 44.9 thousand decisions were made by citizens of Tajikistan on obtaining Russian citizenship. This figure was the highest for the specified period. The second and third places were occupied by citizens of Ukraine (22 thousand) and Armenia (8.9 thousand).

The top ten also included citizens of Kazakhstan (6.9 thousand), Kyrgyzstan (5.4 thousand), Uzbekistan (4.7 thousand), Azerbaijan (3.7 thousand), Moldova (3.1 thousand), Belarus (2.4 thousand) and Turkmenistan (912 people).
