Deputies approved the candidacy of Aziz Abdukhakimov for the post of Minister of Ecology

During the meeting, Aziz Abdukhakimov gave information about his program of actions to be implemented in the future in order to improve the environmental situation in the country and ensure the effectiveness of reforms in the field of environmental protection.

Earlier, the President signed a decree "On measures to transform the sphere of ecology and environmental protection and the organization of the activities of the authorized state body."

The document renamed the Ministry of Natural Resources to the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.

Aziz Abdukhakimov was born in 1974 in Tashkent. Graduated from Tashkent State University of Economics. He graduated from Hitotsubashi University of Japan with a degree in economics.

In 2014-2017, he headed the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. In 2017-2018, he was the chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development. At one time, he was Deputy Prime Minister, head of the complex for education, health, physical culture, sports and tourism.

In January 2019, Aziz Abdukhakimov became the Rector of the Silk Road International University of Tourism

In April 2021, the deputies approved the candidacy of Aziz Abdukhakimov for the post of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Sports. In February 2022, the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage was headed by Aziz Abdukhakimov.

As a result of the "administrative reforms", he became the Minister of Natural Resources.
