The concept of "influencer" is strengthened in the legislation of Kazakhstan. Citizens who advertise on social networks will have to pay taxes. Cursive Media reported about it.

At the meeting of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, the deputies began to develop a draft law on online platforms. Deputies decided to legalize the taxation of bloggers. In particular, lawmakers intend to introduce the concept of "influencers".

This is done so that bloggers who receive money in an "envelope" for advertising posted on their social networks pay taxes. It was noted that there is a need to regulate the industry due to the fact that individual users with a large audience in social networks are creating financial pyramids and conducting fake charity work.

"Many new terms related to this are being introduced into the legislation. The second part concerns the activities of online platforms. Here we introduce the concept of 'influencer,'" said MP Aydor Sarim.

Sarim explained that influencers should pay taxes. Additionally, bloggers will be required to indicate that they have been paid for advertising before placing it.

At the same time, Aydos Sarim said that such regulation is not aimed at "killing blogging" in Kazakhstan. Active users of social networks can continue to work as bloggers, but they will have to follow the taxes.

We remind you that the requirement to mark advertising materials with the PR symbol has been in force for a long time.

At the plenary session of the parliament in early May, deputy Anas Bakkojayev said that Kazakhstan has become "the homeland of bloggers who are not responsible for their words and actions." He sent a request to the General Prosecutor's Office and demanded that the bloggers be prosecuted in accordance with the law "On Mass Media".

Bakkoyayev said that there are many people who call themselves bloggers and publish false information on social networks in Kazakhstan.
