President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation on the state of introduction of renewable energy sources in social institutions and state offices.

By the decision of the head of our state on February 16 of this year, a program to accelerate work in this regard was adopted. According to him, this year, it is planned to install 220 megawatt solar panels in the social sector and government offices.

At the meeting, the officials gave information on the execution of work in this regard.

It is noted that 107 megawatts of solar panels have been installed today. Large state companies are doing well. But the results in social institutions are still not enough.

For example, 36% of the panels are installed in the buildings of the higher education institution, 33% in the schools, and 28% in the medical institutions. According to the regions, in the republic this indicator has reached almost 50%. However, the level of installation of renewable energy sources in the city of Tashkent is 26 percent compared to the plan.

The head of our state emphasized that there are still many opportunities in this regard and gave instructions to accelerate the work.

It is planned to launch solar and wind power plants with a capacity of 2,000 megawatts this year. In addition, recently, as part of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the People's Republic of China, an agreement was reached on the construction of 11 solar and wind farms with a total capacity of 4.8 gigawatts worth 4.4 billion dollars.

The issues of organizing the implementation of these agreements were also discussed at the meeting.
