Tajikistan increased import of oil products to 451.75 thousand tons
Tajikistan in the first half of 2023 increased the import of petroleum products by 28%, to 451.75 thousand tons, compared to the same period last year. The leader in the supply of petroleum products to the republic is Russia - 85.4% of the total import volume was imported from it to Tajikistan, TASS reports.
“According to customs data for January-June 2023, the republic received 451.75 thousand tons of oil products worth $320.5 million <…>, which is 99.6 thousand tons more compared to the same period last year. <...> The import of oil products into the republic mainly falls on the Russian Federation - 85.4%," the ministry said in a press conference following the results of work for the six months of 2023.
As noted in the antimonopoly service, another 5.1% of imports come from Kazakhstan, 4.4% from Turkmenistan, 2.6% from Uzbekistan, 1.4% from Belarus and 1.1% from other states. During the first half of the year, 174.2 thousand tons of gasoline were imported into the republic, most of which was supplied by Gazpromneft-Tajikistan. “In the first half of this year, 59% of imported gasoline is accounted for by Gazpromneft-Tajikistan LLC, 7% by the State Material Resources Agency, 4% by Seganj LLC, and the remaining 30% by other gasoline importers,” - the message says. Also, almost 206.2 thousand tons of diesel fuel were imported into the republic during the specified period.
In addition, in the first half of the year, about 169.3 thousand tons of liquefied gas were imported to Tajikistan. Gas was mainly imported from Kazakhstan - the share was 73.47%, Russia was in second place in terms of supplies - 24.67%, Uzbekistan was in third place - 1.86%.
