Teacher Sentenced to 5 Days in Jail for Making Inappropriate Remarks to Colleague

In the Muzrabot district of the Surkhandarya region, a 59-year-old school teacher has been sentenced to 5 days of administrative detention for making sexually suggestive remarks to a female colleague.

According to reports, on October 3, 2026, the teacher said to the woman in the presence of other colleagues: "Your dress is so beautiful; I’m going to hug and kiss you." The woman stated that she felt deeply embarrassed by these comments and noted that the man had made sexually suggestive remarks to her in the past as well. In court, the man claimed that he had made the comments as a joke.

The court found him guilty under Article 41-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility and imposed a sentence of 5 days of administrative detention.
