In Fergana, an enterprise manager and a technologist have been arrested in connection with the poisoning of children.

The case concerning the food poisoning of 105 children across eight kindergartens in the Fergana region has been reviewed, the regional court reported.

The cassation court overturned the previous verdict, sentencing Shavkat Turdaliyev, the head of "Garden Catering Trade" LLC, to four years in prison, and the company’s technologist, Rasuljon Alimov, to three years and six months in prison.

Previously, the Furqat District Court had imposed a sentence of "restriction of liberty" (a form of non-custodial punishment) on the defendants and ordered their release from the courtroom.

As a reminder, on February 21–22, 2026, 105 children attending eight kindergartens in the city of Fergana were hospitalized due to food poisoning. Investigations revealed the presence of *Salmonella* and *Staphylococcus* bacteria in the food consumed by the children.
