Singapore's President Halima Jacob is making state visits to Kazakhstan on 21-23 may and to Uzbekistan on 23-25 may. This is the first visit of the president of Singapore to the states of Central Asia.
Halima Jacob was invited to Uzbekistan by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in January 2023, during his visit to Singapore.
According to the press service of the president of Singapore, after the negotiations in Koksaroy, Halima Jacob will participate in the Singapore-Uzbekistan Business Forum. The visitor also visits Samarkand.
Recall that Shavkat Mirziyoyev was also negotiating with the Prime Minister of this country, Lee Xiang Lun, at the time of his visit to Singapore at the beginning of the year. In a country governed by a parliamentary republic, most powers are vested in the Prime Minister.
It should be noted that until now, the president or Prime Minister of Singapore had not visited Central Asia.
For information, in the near future, the plans were made for visits to Uzbekistan by French President Emmanuel Macron, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Ol Soniy and Hungarian President Viktor Orbán.
