305 greenhouses have been erected in Tursunzade on a total area of 38.95 hectares, currently tomatoes are grown on 6.20 hectares, cucumbers on 1.40 hectares, flowers on 1.70 hectares, lemons on 5.48 hectares and other types of agricultural products on 1.36 hectares. Farmers of the city intend to provide the country's markets with tomatoes, cucumbers and other types of early vegetables. This was stated on February 21 during the familiarization of the working group of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Sulaimon Ziezod with the real situation of orchards and vineyards, growing vegetables in greenhouses, the state of readiness of irrigation facilities, pumping stations and the preparation of agricultural producers for the spring sowing campaign in the city of Tursunzade.
The Executive body of state power Tursunzade told the regional correspondent of NIAT "Khovar", During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister and members of the working group held talks with farmers of Tursunzade and gave them useful recommendations on further increasing the yield of crops, orchards and vineyards.
Then the guests visited the city pumping stations of irrigation water.
The head of the State Department of Land Reclamation and Irrigation of the city, Sorbon Ruziev, said that there are 22 gravity channels in Tursunzad, which fully irrigate 13 thousand 459 hectares of the city's land.
As of today, 32 kilometers of channels have been cleared. There are also 5 water pumping stations in the city, which are ready to provide irrigation water this year.
With the support of the Agency of Land Reclamation and Irrigation under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, two water pumping units were installed in the rural jamoat of the 10th anniversary of independence of the city in 2023, with the help of which 40 hectares of land are irrigated.
Deputy Prime Minister Sulaimon Ziezoda gave a number of specific instructions to the leadership of the city of Tursunzade on the further development of the agricultural sector, rational use of land and contributing to the achievement of food security.
