Switzerland has removed Russian billionaires Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman from its sanctions list. This was announced by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).

Restrictions have also been lifted against Andrey Falaleyev, the former rector of V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University, and the company Redbird Corporate Services Ltd. Former State Duma deputy Yuri Shvitkin and designer Alexander Leonov were removed from the list due to their deaths.

At the same time, Switzerland has expanded its sanctions list against Russia by adding 254 new entries. These include 33 Russian banks, 17 financial institutions and crypto-service providers, as well as various airports and ports.

According to SECO, the Swiss government has decided—due to certain foreign policy and legal factors—not to impose new restrictions on two Russian citizens and 14 companies based in third countries.
