Ronaldo broke the world record
Cristiano Ronaldo holds the world record for the number of international matches.
The 38-year-old forward saw 78 minutes of action in the Euro 2024 qualifier against Liechtenstein (4:0), achieving a double.
It is Ronaldo's 197th appearance for Portugal. He lost to Badir Al Mutwa of Kuwait (196). At the same time, it should be noted that the International Federation of football history and statistics (IFFHS) considers Malaysian Son Chin Anna (219 games) to be the record holder, although it does have 24 games not officially counted.
