Atyrau and Almaty also took the leading positions, Zhezkazgan, Satpayev and Semey were on the last lines.

JSC "Institute of Economic Research" has prepared a rating of the quality of life in 25 cities of Kazakhstan for 2022 and compared it with the results for cities in 2021. Cities were evaluated by 3 factors: "Economics and Business", "Human Resources" and "Infrastructure". They, in turn, were divided into 14 categories. Economic growth Material well-being Labor market Assessment of the business environment Demographic situation Quality of education Health of the population Culture, sports and leisure Transport infrastructure Living conditions Comfort of living The efficiency of the work of M&E Safety The state of the environment The results were summed up according to statistics and the results of an online survey of the population. The leaders of the rating according to the results of processing 53 statistical indicators and 36 results of the poll were the cities of Astana, Atyrau, Almaty. The cities of Aktau, Turkestan and Stepnogorsk also occupy high values.

If the positions of the top three cities, including Aktau, can be explained by the positive influence of a number of economic indicators, then the high positions of Turkestan and Stepnogorsk are explained by the relatively high ratings of local residents based on the results of a sociological survey," the information says. It emphasizes that none of the cities scored a theoretically possible 10 points, and the average score was below the conditional 5 points - 4.75 points. Thus, about 70% of the studied cities have an integral indicator of the quality of life below the average value," the researchers write. The bottom lines of the rating are occupied by the cities of Zhezkazgan, Satpayev and Semey. At the same time, Zhezkazgan and Semey have been the administrative centers of the new regions - Ulytau and Abay since this year. Compared to the rating for 2021, the average score for cities decreased by 0.11 points (from 4.86 points to 4.75). The decrease in the average score can be explained by the deterioration of the economic situation and the increase in prices for basic products in cities, which residents regularly noted in an online survey.
