18-story building under construction collapses in Kenya

An 18-story building under construction in the center of Nairobi, Kenya, has collapsed. People were inside the building at the time of the incident, and dozens may be trapped under the rubble.

According to Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, one man has been rescued from the debris so far. Meanwhile, rescue teams are continuing the search for others and working to extract them.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja stated that the building did not meet construction standards. He indicated that legal action would be taken against the building's owner.
