Turkish intelligence services detained a fugitive terrorist in Tajikistan
Turkish authorities accuse the US-based Gülen cleric's organization, which they call FETÖ, of involvement in the July 2016 coup attempt.
A fugitive member of the FETÖ organization banned in Turkey named Vural was caught in Tajikistan.
This was reported by the Anadolu state agency, citing sources in security structures.
It is noted that he was detained by Turkish special services and has already been taken to Istanbul.
According to official data, the terrorist went to Tajikistan on the instructions of the FETÖ leadership.
He was involved in coordinating the group’s activities in the countries of Central Asia.
“Vural is listed in the “orange” category of the list of wanted terrorists. He is charged with “membership in the armed terrorist organization FETÖ,” the agency reports, citing Turkish intelligence services.
It is noted that the terrorist, while in Tajikistan, constantly traveled to the United States for new assignments from the leader of the banned organization Fethullah Gulen.
“He planned to flee Tajikistan after another fugitive FETÖ member, Emsal Koç, was extradited to Turkey,” the publication notes.
