ASTANA, August 24 - Sputnik. Kazakhstan is preparing amendments to the legislation that will allow regulating the flow of migration to Astana. Askarbek Yertaev, head of the migration committee of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, told about this.

“In terms of the migration flow to the capital, this work is being carried out. Certain amendments have been developed, but they are being discussed. I would not voice them now, because discussion is underway. These measures will be included in the bill. approaches," Yertayev said at a briefing.

He added that a special working group has been created, when considering innovations, world experience is considered.

How many people come to Astana and what did Tokayev say
In July, the country's president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, noted that the regulation and control of migration to the capital needed to be tightened. Every year, 50-60 thousand people arrive in Astana, 150 thousand people visit daily from different regions, including from abroad.

"All this puts a significant burden on the engineering and social infrastructure of the city. Effective steps are needed to bring the situation under control and regulate migration processes. The lion's share of people who come to the capital are labor migrants, especially from nearby regions," the head of state said.

According to experts, the number of metropolitan residents will reach two million by 2030.
