Emomali Rahmon will leave for the city of Jeddah to participate in the summit "Central Asia - Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf"

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon will pay a working visit to Saudi Arabia.

This was reported to Sputnik Tajikistan by the press secretary of the head of state, Abdufattoh Sharifzoda.

According to him, Emomali Rahmon will leave for Jeddah on July 18 in the afternoon. In general, the trip will last until July 19.

As part of this visit, the president will take part in the first summit of the heads of state in the format "Central Asia - Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf."

According to the press service, the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan are expected to attend the upcoming summit.

"In accordance with the agenda, issues of developing interregional cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres will be considered," the source stressed.

A number of bilateral meetings are also planned within the framework of the summit, the press service added.

In addition, Emomali Rahmon will visit Mecca and perform the Hajj.

Rahmon carried out personnel changes in the structural divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Recall that in September 2022, in the capital of Saudi Arabia, the countries of the Gulf and Central Asia held the first meeting at the level of heads of foreign affairs agencies.
