The head of the Department of Geology of Tajikistan at a press conference shared the success of the republic in the development of rare earth metals

Tajik geologists are working not only to find deposits of lithium, but also other rare earth metals.

This was stated by the head of the Main Department of Geology of the Republic Ilkhom Oymuhammadzoda.

"Currently, the department has carried out preliminary exploration of lithium-bearing areas in the southern part of the Pamirs, and there are significant reserves of category C2," he shared.

The head of the department of geology also stressed that a new project is underway.

According to him, the initiative "will be carried out in the central part of Tajikistan, where there are promising areas of rare earth metals."

Moreover, Ilkhom Oymuhammadzoda recalled that the republic ranks second after China in the world in terms of antimony reserves.

"I think that in the near future Tajikistan can take the first place," he assured.

According to the information he provided, there are more than 8 promising deposits in the country.

Tajik scientists participate in paleontological research in Orenburg

Earlier, Tajik geologists discovered 100 dangerous areas in the country.

Thus, the most unsafe in the city of Rogun (24 sites) and on the territory of the Khatlon region: in Pyanj (15), Vakhsh (17) and Abdurakhman Jami district (20).

The smallest number of dangerous territories is located in Tursunzade, Kanibadam, Khorog, Varzob and Rasht.
