Sadr Japarov received OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid
President Sadr Japarov received OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid, who today toured the countries of Central Asia.
An exchange of views took place on strengthening bilateral cooperation in all areas of development of countries and priorities for cooperation in the near future.
Welcoming the OSCE Secretary General, the head of state thanked the country for its support. Strengthening law enforcement, judicial and law enforcement agencies, especially in the field of socio-economic development.
Sadir Japarov welcomed the activities of the OSCE in Bishkek, saying: "Kyrgyzstan views the OSCE as an important multilateral platform for dialogue based on equal and mutual respect, based on the principle of reconciliation between the participating States on security and cooperation issues."
At the same time, the President considers it expedient to continue strengthening the OSCE project activities in Kyrgyzstan in such areas as strengthening border security, as well as supporting the reform of law enforcement agencies and strengthening their capacity, entrepreneurship, especially e-commerce in the regions of the country.
Recalling that this year marks the 50th anniversary of World Environment Day, President Japarov discussed in detail the issues of sustainable development of mountainous regions at the global level. Sadr Japarov noted that one of the main priorities of the country's economic policy, especially in connection with the consequences of climate change, is the promotion of the "green economy", the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies and environmental protection. Kyrgyzstan is interested in developing cooperation with international partners to promote "green initiatives".
Thanking President Sadir Japarov for the warm hospitality, Helga Maria Schmid noted that Kyrgyzstan is a very important partner and member of the Organization.
He highly appreciated the initiatives and efforts of the Kyrgyz Republic to protect mountainous countries and welcomed the participation of the Organization in the UN mountain partnership.
The OSCE Secretary General confirmed the OSCE's interest in developing bilateral and regional cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia.
