President of Turkmenistan S. Berdimuhamedov received Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan B.Saidov

On March 29, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, IA Turkmenistan reports.

Expressing sincere gratitude for his time, Bakhtiyor Saidov conveyed to the head of state, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov cordial greetings from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who addressed wishes of well-being and prosperity to all Turkmen citizens. At the same time, it was noted that the neighboring state attaches great importance to the traditionally friendly dialogue with fraternal Turkmenistan.

Thanking for the kind words, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, stressing that Turkmenistan is also invariably committed to trusting, good-neighborly relations with Uzbekistan, which have a centuries-old history.

As noted during the meeting, the bilateral consultations planned within the framework of the current visit to Ashgabat by the acting head of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry through the foreign ministries will provide a good opportunity to exchange views on priority issues of interstate dialogue, topical aspects of the regional and international agenda. It will also serve to further strengthen fruitful cooperation across its entire spectrum.

In this context, the strategic nature of the Turkmen-Uzbek partnership, which has reached a qualitatively new stage of development in recent years, was emphasized. It was noted that the countries are united not only by geographical location, but also by a historically developed cultural and spiritual community.

Full mutual understanding and openness inherent in the dialogue at the highest level are significant factors in the development of effective cooperation. This, in turn, creates a solid basis for a comprehensive mutually beneficial partnership, filling it with new concrete content.

In this context, the great contribution to strengthening the foundation of bilateral relations and their active expansion in the modern era of the Hero-Arkadag and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was emphasized.

It was also noted that Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan cooperate constructively in the international arena. Countries have similar or similar positions on regional and global issues, primarily related to ensuring universal peace and security, and achieving Sustainable Development Goals. Successfully cooperating within the framework of the United Nations, a number of other international and regional structures, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan provide mutual support for each other's initiatives and proposals.

In the context of the multifaceted Turkmen-Uzbek partnership, a special place is given to the trade and economic sphere. In this regard, the positive dynamics of bilateral trade turnover, cooperation in the fuel and energy, transport and logistics, agricultural sectors, as well as in other areas were noted

Along with this, the progressive nature is inherent in traditional contacts in cultural, scientific, educational fields, which is a kind of bridge for further rapprochement of the two fraternal peoples. Inter-parliamentary cooperation is also an important component of Turkmen-Uzbek relations.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Bakhtiyor Saidov conveyed his best wishes to the Turkmen people on the occasion of the holy month of Oraz.

At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov expressed confidence that strategic interstate cooperation, based on unbreakable ties of friendship and good-neighborliness, will continue to strengthen and develop successfully for the common good.
