Dushanbe Airport Expenses Exceed Revenues

The management of Dushanbe International Airport calculated that in the first half of 2023, revenues increased by 1.5 million somoni

The income of Dushanbe International Airport for the first half of 2023 amounted to 335 million somoni.

This was announced during a press conference of the Civil Aviation Agency of Tajikistan Dilshod Safarzoda.

According to him, this indicator increased by 1.5 million somoni compared to the same period last year.

He also added that the expenses of Dushanbe International Airport for the first 6 months of 2023 amounted to 383 million somoni, which is about 80 million somoni, or 26% more than in the first half of 2022.

In total, during this period, Dushanbe International Airport served 991 thousand people. Thus, passenger traffic increased by 260 thousand, or 30%.

According to Safarzoda, during this period, the total number of served routes was 3395, of which 2792 are regular routes.

The volume of cargo that passed through the air harbor of the Tajik capital is estimated at 1.5 thousand tons. This figure has increased by more than 60% compared to the same period in 2022.

Tajik Air intends to resume work

According to the agency, in the first 6 months of the year, 554 cases of flight delays were registered.

According to representatives of the Civil Aviation Agency of Tajikistan, the reason for flight delays in many cases is related to unfavorable weather.

Earlier it became known that in the next 2-3 months the Tajik airline "Tajik Air" plans to resume flights.
