Development of cooperation between ISESCO and Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan discussed

The delegation headed by the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli is on a visit to the city of Rabat of the Kingdom of Morocco at the invitation of the Director General of the Organization of Islamic Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO).

During the visit, a meeting was held between a delegation headed by Minister Adil Karimli and ISESCO Director General Salim bin Mohammed al-Malik. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Morocco, Azerbaijan's permanent representative to the organization Nazim Samedov.

Expressing gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for fruitful cooperation, the ISESCO Director General noted with satisfaction that he highly appreciates the merits of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who provided great and invaluable support in the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the organization.

Salim bin Mohammed al-Malik emphasized that this cooperation could become a successful model for many countries, provided information on the main strategic directions of the organization for the future, as well as on ongoing initiatives, programs and projects. He said that the development of innovations, education systems, as well as strengthening the values of coexistence and civil dialogue is one of the priorities.

Minister of Culture Adil Karimli noted that ISESCO is a strategic partner of Azerbaijan in the field of education, science and culture, relations between the two sides received great support from President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady, ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva. Noting that ISESCO is the main partner of the Intercultural Dialogue Forum, the Minister stressed the importance of continuing cooperation within the framework of the Forum, scheduled for May next year.

The meeting discussed issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the organization in various fields, including the opening of the ISESCO Regional Office in Baku, the announcement of the city of Shusha as the "Cultural Capital of the Islamic World" for 2024, the deepening of cooperation within the framework of the "Baku Process", of which ISESCO is a partner, the inclusion of cultural samples of our country in the list of heritage of the Islamic world, etc.

After the meeting, Salim al-Malik familiarized the delegation headed by the Minister of Culture Adil Karimli with the recently created museum "The Way of the Prophet" at the ISESCO headquarters.
