Azerbaijan calls on Armenia to pay compensation for damages at UN meeting
At the UN meeting, Azerbaijan called on Armenia to pay compensation for the damage caused and take part in peace negotiations in good faith.
According to Report, the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN, Yashar Aliyev, made a corresponding statement at an open debate in the UN Security Council on the topic "Food insecurity caused by hunger and conflicts."
According to him, Armenia must fulfill its international obligations, completely withdraw its armed forces from the territory of Azerbaijan, put an end to territorial claims, illegal activities and disinformation.
"The Armenian side must put an end to mine terror, shed light on the fate of some 4,000 Azerbaijanis who went missing during the conflict, repair the damage done to Azerbaijan, including its food security systems, and participate in good faith in negotiations on a peace treaty and border delimitation between the two states. Azerbaijan is firmly determined to defend its people, sovereignty and territorial integrity and is fully committed to the goals of a peaceful, secure, stable and prosperous region," the diplomat stressed.
