Ashgabat hosts events on the eve of the forum on environmental aspects of the development of the fuel and energy complex
On June 14, within the framework of the scientific and practical conference "Energy Prospects, New Technologies and Environmental Aspects of the Development of Hydrocarbon Fields", two pre-conference events are being held, the organizers of the forum report.
The first meeting is entitled "Affordable and clean energy: a youth perspective", in which representatives of the UN and academia of Turkmenistan and students discuss the UN Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 7 "Affordable and Clean Energy" - Ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy sources for all.
Students from the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakaev, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and the International University for the Humanities and Development will hold discussions, share knowledge and experience in implementing their ambitious ideas on sustainable energy, which is necessary to strengthen the economy and protect ecosystems.
At the second event, entitled "The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE): Prospects and Opportunities for the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan", a member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Petroleum Engineers will make a presentation on the activities of the Society, its goals and conditions of membership, the history of the creation of the society and the prospects for establishing a mutually beneficial cooperation with universities and research institutes of Turkmenistan.
This is a non-profit organization, on the global platform of which 119 thousand people from 138 countries, including 426 student organizations, share their knowledge and experience in the field of exploration, development and production of oil and gas and related technologies. SPE members have access to their huge OnePetro electronic library, peer-reviewed journals and an encyclopedia. This presentation will not only be informative for students, but will also possibly determine the basis for their new strategic goals in self-education and professional activities.
The main part of the international scientific conference "Energy prospects, new technologies and environmental aspects of the development of hydrocarbon fields" will begin on June 15. The forum will be held at the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakaev.
More than 800 delegates from 20 countries will cover the topic of reducing environmental emissions from hydrocarbon development and energy transition. The conference will be attended by high-ranking officials of the government of Turkmenistan, heads of national and international oil and gas companies, representatives of international organizations and research centers, the international and Turkmen academic community, as well as students of universities in Turkmenistan.
