Armed attack in Türkiye: 8 people killed

An unidentified gunman opened fire on residents in several villages in Türkiye's Afyonkarahisar province, killing eight people.

According to reports, three people were killed in Ayazini village, three in Kıyır village, and two women in Yukarıtandır village on November 5. The victims died in hospital from gunshot wounds. Two teachers were among those killed. The victims' bodies were reportedly found in three separate vehicles.

The suspect fled the scene but was later apprehended by police and gendarmerie forces in the neighboring Eskişehir province. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
