In Singapore, a tourist stole a diamond worth around $200,000 from a jewelry store by hiding it in his mouth.
The man entered the store as a customer and, when the staff were distracted, took the diamond and concealed it in his mouth. The employees quickly noticed that the stone was missing and prevented him from leaving the store until police arrived.
He initially denied committing the crime. A medical examination and X-ray revealed a foreign object in his digestive system. After the diamond was removed, the man confessed to the theft.
The court sentenced him to 2 years and 4 months in prison.
