Criminal case opened over poisoning of children in kindergartens in Fergana

On February 21, 62 children were hospitalized in state kindergartens No. 2, 58 and 61 in Fergana with acute diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and fever. According to the regional Department of Internal Affairs, a criminal case has been opened under Article 257¹ of the Criminal Code. The prosecutor's office and other competent authorities are conducting a preliminary investigation and examination. The Ombudsman for Children's Rights, the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Preschool Education, and other competent organizations are inspecting the kindergartens and conducting laboratory tests.
